What is AthleteX?

AthleteX is a challenge that requires you to complete a number of pre-selected competitive adventure based events over a 12 month period. Complete them to become part of the prestigious ATHLETE-X club.

The AthleteX ELITE challenge is for those who have a solid fitness base, and would like to take their training & events to the next level. This is the greatest challenge, but the thrill of the finish will definitely out weigh the hard work, needed to become part of a very small AthleteX ELITE finishers club.

Qualifying criteria

AthleteX 2016/ 17/ 18/ 19

Sub 28min 5km run

Completed 40km+ MTB event

Completed 1 open water swim

Completed sub 2hr20min half marathon

Now into our fifth year, the popular AthleteX category, a great stepping stone to events will challenge you to do something extraordinary and with commitment to the training, we are confident that you will be able and ready to complete all the events to earn your place in the AthleteX finishers club.

AthleteX Training

To take part in Athlete X you will need to signup to the program starting in January 2020. This is a 11 month program that will be completed in November 2020. All training and conditioning sessions will be held at Dan Willment Fitness or on some trail in the wild!

The AthleteX events are demanding and will require specific training. The team at Dan Willment Fitness have designed programs that will prepare you for a long year of endurance event by incorporating training techniques specific to Endurance and to adapt you to the constant change in disciplines.

Unlimited base training sessions

3 X conditioning sessions per week- 5:15am or 6pm

2 Wattbike/ Sufferfest sessions per week

Personalized & adapted monthly programs

Fitness testing & full body assessments

Personal nutrition & race nutrition Program

One80 sessions are used as our cardio and strength training base, the X-conditioning sessions are endurance sports specific training with only AthleteX members taking part. The AthleteX and AthleteX Elite programs are conditioning orientated and will require you to have a good fitness level without any major injuries.
